MAWG NOVEMBER 2025 Training Exercise
This exercise will provide a real world incident and mission tempo. The intention is for participants to approach the exercise as if it were a real world event. Incident staff as well as aircrews and ground teams will receive exercise inputs in the days leading up to the exercise as well as on the day of the event. They will be expected to respond as they would to a real incident. Achieving training goals will be a bi-product of effective mission activity.
ALL Incident Command Staff positions need to be filled. In addition, volunteers for the following specialties are encouraged to sign up: Mission Pilot, Mission Observer, Mission Scanner, Aerial Photographer, sUAS, Ground Team Member, Urban Direction Finding, Mission Radio Operator.

Who: All MAWG, VTWG and RIWG members are invited.
* All members who sign into the mission must be qualified for the specialty they want to perform during the exercise.
* Members with only a GES qualification may observe and learn how to get started with their training at the Incident Command Post (ICP).
What: The training scenario is a sudden incident that will require a short notice response. This will include launching aircraft to perform SAR/DR functions as well as Ground and sUAS teams who will be tasked to respond in coordination with aircrews.
When: Saturday, November 22nd with a backup date of Sunday, November 23rd. Remote tasks will be briefed no later than the day before to all aircrews and ground team participants.
ICP opens: 0900 L (1400 Z)
Initial briefing: 1000 L (1500 Z)
The exercise is expected to end by 1600 L (2100 Z).
Where:
The ICP will be located in the WESTCOMM regional dispatch conference room at 645 Shawinigan Dr, Chicopee, MA 01020 . There is no landline available. There is public Wi-Fi internet access available. Restrooms are available.
CAP members driving to the ICP will be able to park directly on site.
Why: Maintain proficiency in incident command, aircrew search and rescue, communications, air/ground coordination and ground search and rescue. Come learn about CAP emergency services operations.
