Dear Rhode Island Wing Members, On Saturday, 27 September 2025, Rhode Island Wing will be participating in a Disaster Relief Exercise in conjunction with the Portsmouth Emergency Management Agency. Exercise Details:
* Time: 0800–1200 (exercise); additional training until 1700 * Location: Portsmouth, RI (departing from Wing HQ at 0700; meet at 0630) * Focus: Using drones to assess the condition of dams in the area * Additional Training (afternoon): * Drone operations * ELT search techniques * Radio communications
This will be an excellent opportunity for members pursuing or practicing qualifications as:
* Mission Radio Operators (MRO) * Communications Unit Leaders (CUL) * Mission Staff Assistants (MSA) * Urban Direction Finding (UDF)
Requirements:
* Current General Emergency Services (GES) qualification * Bring a printed copy of your SQTR(s) for the positions you are working on
