Dear Rhode Island Wing Members,

On Saturday, 27 September 2025, Rhode Island Wing will be participating in a Disaster Relief Exercise in conjunction with the Portsmouth Emergency Management Agency.

Exercise Details:

Time: 0800–1200 (exercise); additional training until 1700
Location: Portsmouth, RI (departing from Wing HQ at 0700; meet at 0630)
Focus: Using drones to assess the condition of dams in the area
Additional Training (afternoon):

Drone operations
ELT search techniques
Radio communications

This will be an excellent opportunity for members pursuing or practicing qualifications as:

Mission Radio Operators (MRO)
Communications Unit Leaders (CUL)
Mission Staff Assistants (MSA)
Urban Direction Finding (UDF)

Requirements:

Current General Emergency Services (GES) qualification
Bring a printed copy of your SQTR(s) for the positions you are working on
