Again this year, RIWG will be conducting a Holiday Lights Emergency Services exercise.  This exercise focuses on Mission Radio Operator and Disaster Relief assessment training.  This is a multi-evening exercise, Wednesday through Saturday, December 10^th to December 13^th.  Squadrons are strongly encouraged to use their vans to take their members around Rhode Island to view Christmas light decorations and evaluate them.  The Wednesday, Thursday and Friday exercises will start at 6:00 p.m. and run till 9:00.  We will stop providing new targets in time for squadrons to return back to their home station.  If squadrons need additional vehicles, let me know as soon as possible and we will work to accommodate.  Although this is operated as an ES exercise, since squadrons are traveling together in an urban area, safety is the only requirement.  Qualified members can get qualifications in UDF and MRO.  Saturday operations will start at 1500 and plan to meet at wing around 2030 for snacks and plan to be home no later than 10:00 p.m. 

Aircrews tasking is to operate at night to locate locations with clusters of lighted holiday decorations.

This is to train our CAP members to dispatch and evaluate disaster damage using holiday decorations as a surrogate for damage.
